Begin Well is a charity dedicated to delivering free evidence-based antenatal education. Our courses are run by teams of trained volunteers and health professionals through local churches, and seek to enable all parents-to-be to begin their parenting journey physically, emotionally and spiritually well.

At Begin Well, we are committed to offering evidence-based antenatal courses that are affordable and accessible to all. Our approach focuses on providing comprehensive support and information to expectant parents through local church teams, empowering them to make informed decisions and confidently navigate the journey to parenthood.
Our Story
Begin Well was founded in 2018 by Louise Hughes, a Consultant Obstetrician, and Karen Egitto, a Senior Nurse with a background in Health Visiting, with the vision of ensuring that every expectant parent has access to high-quality antenatal education. Our story is one of dedication to providing valuable resources and nurturing a supportive community for families as they prepare for the arrival of their little ones.
Our Team
Begin Well has well over 60 volunteers across 15 locations, supported by a Volunteer Coordinator, an Administration Manager, and a Board of Trustees including the Charity's Founders. Each training team is in turn supported by a local church or churches.
